The picturesque
Elena-Stella studios and apartments are
privately owned. Clean
cool and spacious, they are located
in a quieter area about 850 metres from
the beach at Arillas. The gardens
surrounding the large tranquil swimming
pool are filled with bougainvillea, palms, fruit trees and geraniums that
flourish in the Mediterranean. Each studio and apartment has a large and
private balcony with patio furniture. There is ample car parking and the
excursion coach will pick you up at the gates. This is Arillas at it’s
quietest, undisturbed (except for the cicada’s and bullfrogs, of course!)
while the minimarket and traditional bakers are nearby for your convenience.
The studios and
apartments are all simply furnished in the Corfiote style, the bedrooms have
twin beds, wardrobe, dressing table and a door opening out onto the
balcony. Keep the shutters closed for the cool, green shade to filter
through or throw them open for the dazzling pure sunshine to warm the marble
floors and whitewashed walls. Air conditioning has been installed for the
2008 season.
The kitchenette/dining
area has a table and chairs, while some are large enough for an extra bed or
cot. Basic kitchen equipment is provided with an electric hob, kettle,
fridge and crockery, cutlery etc. Towels and tea towels, a regular
chambermaid service and a shower/wc complete the facilities provided by
Elena-Stella, for anything else you may require, you can ask me, when I'm not working at Olga’s Travel,
I live at Elena-Stella.
By day, take the short
cut behind Elena-Stella, down the gravel road to the east side of the
beach. Don’t forget to buy your bottle of water and suntan cream from the minimarket you pass by. The two friendly taverna's with balconies
overhanging the beach and overlooking the rocky island of Gravia are owned
by the Bardis families, choose your lunch from the traditional Corfiote
dishes or their more Americanised cousins next door.
